2024 Signing Weekend (Missoula)
Join us in Missoula this summer for a family weekend of ASL and fun!
August 2024 will be our third annual Signing Weekend in Missoula! We invite families with deaf and hard-of-hearing children to join deaf community members for an informal weekend full of fun activities and socializing in Montana.
We arrange activities between Thursday evening and Sunday morning; everyone is welcome to attend any or all of our activities. All of the activities this weekend are free and open to everyone in the ASL/Deaf communities. We have a limited amount of support available for travel costs, as well as local accommodations, rides, etc.. Our goal is to make this weekend accessible to as many families with deaf children as we can.
Housing/travel assistance is available for families with deaf children.

Schedule summary:
Thursday 8/3
5:30-8:30 pm: Downtown ToNight
Friday 8/4
Morning: individual meetings with Caitlin (The Signing SLP) (at Cecily’s house)
12-2 pm: McCormick Park
12:00 Picnic lunch
12:30 free play/games
2-4 pm: swimming at Currents Aquatic Center
6-8: Pizza/Happy Hour/playtime at Highlander Beer
Saturday 8/5
9:30-11:30 am: Missoula Public Library (Blackfoot Communications Room 410, 4th floor):
9:30-10 meet & greet, coffee hour
10:00 ASL story sharing
10:30 kids: supervised play/explore on the 2nd floor
10:30-11:30 adults: Q&A with Caitlin (The Signing SLP) and Cecily (MTFASL)
1-4 pm: meetings with Caitlin (at Cecily’s house)
1-4 pm: Franklin Park
1-2 playground
2-3 art project (cardboard wings)
3-4 splash pad
5-8 pm: cookout at Cecily’s house
Sunday 8/6
11:00: Brunch @ the Brandborgs’ house

Four families with six deaf kids hung out at the pool for a day and a half. We had a fantastic time.
Scavenger Hunt 2023
Swimming at Currents: Friday 4-6
Barbeque at Cecily’s house: Friday 6-8
Scavenger hunt at Greenough Park: Saturday 10-12
Playtime at the library: Saturday 2-4
Pizza party at Rita and Flynt’s house: Saturday 6-8
